Recipe: FOR TACOS: (mix contents of package well before preparation) 12-18 med. Pre-cooked Taco Shells ** (use up to 18 shells if desired) 1 pound ** Ground beef or ground turkey (use 1 1/2 lbs. if omit beans) ** 1 can Refried beans (15 oz.) 3 tbsp. Water (add 1 more tbs. water if using ground turkey) 1 pkg. Phil's Amazing Taco/Nacho Seasoning 4-6 cups Lettuce (Shredded) = about 1 medium head iceburg lettuce 1-2 lg. Tomatoes (diced) 4-8 oz. Sharp Cheddar cheese (shredded) Cook beef or turkey in skillet until done: Stir frequently. Add the beans and the pkg. of Taco seasoning and water. Mix well. Cover and simmer 5 minutes over low heat. Salt to taste if desired. Stuff shells with meat mixture, then lettuce, then tomatoes & then cheese. Optional toppings: Salsa, Sour cream, Guacamole FOR NACHOS 1 bag Tortilla chips (12 - 14 oz.) 1 pound Ground beef or ground turkey 1/2 pkg. (2 tbls) Phil's Amazing Taco/Nacho Seasoning 2 tbsp. Water (add 1 more tbs. if using groung Turkey) 1 lb. Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded) or Cheese Spread, etc. Toppings: Sliced jalapeno peppers, sliced mushrooms, green pepper (diced), diced tomatoes, chopped onions, sour cream, guacamole. Cook beef or turkey in skillet until done: Stir frequently Add 1/2 pkg. Taco/Nacho seasoning and the water. Cover and simmer 5 minutes over low heat. Salt to taste if desired. Sprinkle meat mixture on tortilla chips, add the cheese (microwave to melt) Garnish with one or more of the toppings listed above. | |
